Occupational Safety & Health Administration Standards

COURSE DURATION 5 DAYS

Date: 3rd to 7th August 2026

Introduction

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards are mandatory regulations setting workplace safety and health requirements, covering everything from fall protection and machine guarding to chemical exposure limits (PELs) and emergency preparedness, all designed to ensure employers provide safe environments, often through hazard elimination and training, enforced by the agency to protect workers from serious recognized hazards under the General Duty Clause.

Employers must provide a safe workplace, comply with specific standards (like PPE, Hazard Communication), and address serious hazards even if not explicitly covered by a standard. OSHA prioritizes eliminating or reducing hazards through engineering controls (ventilation, safer processes) before relying on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like respirators or gloves.
